A card payment gets a category question
When the bank marks a transaction as a card payment, it is already known to be spending — there is no point asking whether it was an own-account transfer or an investment contribution. Instead I show my proposed category and ask whether it fits. One tap confirms it; 'A different category' opens a list on the same card.
The list has a search that ignores diacritics, my proposal sits at the top, and picking from the list answers the question like any other answer: once, and onward.
'A different category' on every card
The same path works for ordinary transfers too — 'A different category' is always the last answer on the card. A business cost booked through a payment gateway no longer has to pretend to be something else: you pick 'Business expenses' and the report tells the truth.
A repayment from friends offsets the shared expense
When someone pays you back for a shared dinner or chips in for a gift, that inflow is not income — and pretending it was inflated both income and spending. The new answer 'Repayment / collection from friends' subtracts it from expenses, exactly like a merchant refund.
Domande frequenti
Yes — for transfers all the existing answers remain. Only card payments lose the answers that could not be true.
'Other' is always at the end of the list — the search never leaves you at a dead end.
