Transfers between your own accounts across different banks are now matched by name — they no longer inflate spending.

Martia now correctly excludes transfers between your own accounts from spending and income summaries — even when the destination account is in a different bank you haven't connected yet.

What actually changed?

When you move money between your own accounts in different banks, it's not an expense or income — it's the same money, just in a different place. Previously Martia caught these transfers only when both accounts were connected (by matching IBANs). If the other bank wasn't connected yet, the transfer landed in spending or income and skewed the picture.

Now Martia also recognises self-transfers by the recipient's or sender's name — even when one bank stores it as “Jan Kowalski” and another as “Jan Andrzej Kowalski” or “KOWALSKI JAN”. It handles Polish diacritics and ignores business-account suffixes like “SP. Z O.O.” or “JDG”.

Transfer categories — their own section

Money sent to other people (family, friends) and money received from them isn't your spending or your income. It now lands in a separate “Transfers” section in the monthly summary and spending analysis — Martia still remembers it and can answer questions about it, but it no longer pulls your averages around.

The number in the “Spending this month” bar reflects what you actually left at merchants — without that transfer to mum or the reimbursement from a friend for a shared bill.

It works. Martia strips out common business suffixes (e.g. “SP. Z O.O.”, “JDG”, trade names) and compares just the first and last name, so a transfer between your personal and business account is correctly recognised as a self-transfer.

No. The match requires the full first and last name — if a family member shares only your surname, their transfer is correctly tagged as a family transfer, not your own. The bar is intentionally strict so real income isn't lost.
